Tatsuki Fujimoto, the acclaimed mangaka behind the unique "Chainsaw Man" manga series, is noted for creating a universe that defies standard storytelling norms by combining horror fiction dark comedy, and action.
Fujimoto recently offered a fascinating incident in the comment area of his second one-shot collection, recalling a time when he ate his dead pet fish, as evidence of the potential impact of personal experiences on his work.
At the age of 24, Fujimoto shared an apartment for 15,000 yen with his girlfriend. They had a nutritious meals despite their financial position because of the kindness of their neighbors. Their Japanese Rice Fish died one summer.
Ants quickly started to move the body away as he watched the fish. Fujimoto swiftly wiped the ants off and devoured the fish after being overcome with emotion. He had an unsettled stomach the next day.
Fujimoto lied to avoid conflict when his partner questioned whether it was a result of something he ate.
The author of "Chainsaw Man" acknowledges that he has frequently lied throughout his life when scared or under pressure. He normally gets caught, but this time no one caught him.
Sharing this story is Fujimoto's way of telling the truth about the situation because, as he said, the recollection of lying to his partner affected him more than actually eating the fish.
A Reddit User translated the text and posted it on the Chainsaw Man subreddit:
